Professionalism in the Faculty of Health Sciences

The Faculty of Health Sciences has recently created two positions to address the climate of professionalism in the Faculty through the establishment of the Advisor, Professionalism and the Faculty Lead on Professionalism. Both positions have a mandate to address issues including but not limited to harassment, intimidation and discrimination according to the University's policies.

Also newly created is the Professionalism Working Committee. This advisory group will work closely with the Advisor and Faculty Lead on issues of professionalism.  The committee will have representation from various schools and programs involved with FHS and will review, consult, and address general themes of professionalism present in the Faculty with a particular sensitivity to matters of harassment, intimidation and discrimination.

Advisor, Professionalism and Faculty Lead

The Advisor, Professionalism and Faculty Lead will work together towards the following goals in an objective, impartial, empathetic and confidential manner:

  • Complaints mediation, resolution
  • Attend to issues of harassment and discrimination according to university's policies for all Faculty of Health Sciences schools and educational programs
  • Advocacy

Professionalism and Students

The Advisor, Professionalism and Faculty Lead are also available for students, faculty and administration to support awareness and education regarding issues of professionalism:

  • Training and Education Initiatives
