Research interests

  • Mechanisms by which environmental allergens induce airway inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness
  • The pathogenesis of asthma, particularly the role of inflammatory cells, and their trafficking from the bone marrow into the airways
  • The mechanisms of airway hyperresponsiveness
  • The role of lipid mediators, particularly prostaglandins and the cysteinyl leukotrienes in controlling airway function in normal subjects and asthmatics
