The McMaster-Ottawa TOSCE Team

The McMaster-Ottawa TOSCE team members all have strong education backgrounds and expertise in interprofessional collaboration skill building. Prior to the most recent TOSCE development and evaluation project, many team members had work together using the team OSCE tool in the education of medical students. In addition, these investigators have obtained several grants to develop online and paper-based interprofessional education materials for pre-licensure learners.

Denise Marshall (Co-PI) is a primary care palliative care physician and assistant dean of education at McMaster University. Her areas of expertise include interdisciplinary health science teaching, palliative care and family medicine.

Patty Solomon is a Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science and Director of tthe Program for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Anne Boyle is lead for the Undergraduate Education division of Palliative Care at McMaster University, an assistant clinical professor, and a full time palliative care physician.

Lynn Casimiro is Director of professional and interprofessional education at the Montfort Hospital and was instrumental in the development of the CIHC’s National set of IP competencies.

Pippa Hall is a well-known researcher in interprofessional education. She is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and is a palliative care physician.

Alan Taniguchi is a palliative care consultant physician and an assistant clinical professor in McMaster’s department of family medicine. He is known to colleagues and students in McMaster health sciences as a leader and visionary in palliative care whose dedication is enhancing education and ultimately improving patient services.

Lynda Weaver is a program evaluator with Bruyère Continuing Care, and her title is Coordinator Palliative Care Education and Quality Management. Her expertise in education and events planning will be an asset to success of these workshops.
