Welcome to the website for the Division of Pediatric Surgery Program.
McMaster offers a 2 year residency in pediatric surgery. The program is accredited by the Royal College and not only offers a diversified clinical experience, it also offers opportunities in global surgery. We have a strong infrastructure for research that focuses on evidence-based clinical research.
Trainees learn under the supervision of 5 faculty members: Drs P. Fitzgerald, M. Walton, B. Cameron, K. Bailey and H. Flageole.
McMaster Children’s Hospital provides surgical care to a population base of approximately 2.4 million people in southern Ontario. We are the sole tertiary pediatric center and also the Level 1 Trauma Center in the area. Moreover, we have second largest and most modern Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Canada.
The Division of Pediatric Surgery at McMaster Children's Hospital is committed to quality patient care, education and research. We are fortunate to take care of a broad range of pediatric surgical conditions and we collaborate closely with McMaster University to innovate in the area of evidence-based medicine.
