Clinician Motivation

Clinicians were asked to provide reasons why they wanted to participate in our program. Below you will find the most commonly stated answers:

  1. To educate students about: the role of other health professionals; about the value of home care; to increase their understanding of future patients and how they live.
  2. To enhance interprofessional function: through increased communication among disciplines; to improve IP knowledge and relationships; to build stronger relationships between home care and physician care.
  3. To improve client care: by influencing students to practice in a more holistic way; by preparing them to be better prepared “in community care”.
  4. To share the benefits/challenges of working in the community: make students aware of the complexity of home care.
  5. To develop their own skills as preceptors and in IPE.
  6.
