“Hope is the feeling that what is desired may also be possible.” --- Dr. Elizabeth Latimer
Welcome to the Division of Palliative Care at McMaster University!
Hosted on behalf of the Faculty of Health Sciences in the Department of Family Medicine, we are an interprofessional academic body committed to the vision of humanizing living and dying in our community. Our mandate is to develop a recognized program of scholarship and research in palliative care to meet the needs of the university, healthcare, and the broader community.
We are a team of academic clinicians, learners, researchers, and administrators who are leading the development of palliative care at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels in our region and beyond.
We believe that interprofessional collaboration is fundamental to the care of individuals, the education of our learners and the design of our health care systems. We are committed to our communities, and accountable to our stakeholders. We pursue excellence in all of our activities. We are dedicated to the values of integrity in our work, respect in our relationships, and optimism in our outlook.
We invite you to join us.
