Welcome to Critical Care
The Division of Critical Care comprises 14 full- or part-time members providing clinical care for patients at all 4 acute care sites in Hamilton , Ontario which include St. Joseph's Hospital, McMaster University Medical Centre, Hamilton General Hospital , and the Henderson Hospital.
The Division is dedicated to world class research, education and continuous quality improvement. Our Division has an active research programme that supports both basic science and clinical trials research. We are actively involved in the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group, Canadian Intensive Care Foundation, and the Toronto Critical Care Medicine Symposium.
You can find many medical students, residents and fellows in all of our units. We have a fully accredited fellowship training program which welcomes trainees from across Canada as well as abroad.
The practise of critical care medicine crosses many medical specialties and disciplines, and presents many complex and difficult challenges in the delivery of care. We have members that are also from the Departments of Anaesthesia, Pediatrics and Surgery. We are proud of the diversity within our group which enhances our delivery of care.
