Elif Günçe is an Instructor/Tutor in the Global Health Program at McMaster University and an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Western Ontario Schulich School of Dentistry. Her PhD research in forensic sciences focused on the identification of 53 victims in the four terrorist attacks in Istanbul in November 2003.
Dr. Günçe's research interests include disaster victim identification and disaster management; impact of cultural and faith based differences on multidisciplinary forensic science practices; domestic violence, child abuse and neglect; documentation of physical and psychological findings of human rights violations; ethical considerations, quality assurance and best practices in forensic sciences; and chronological age assessment by anthropometric indicators.
Dr. Günçe also enjoys translating literature from German to Turkish.
