Professionalism is an integral yet complex aspect of healthcare delivery and is an expectation for all healthcare professionals. This interactive one day workshop will focus on concepts associated with professionalism in clinical and academic environments.

Discussion will include:

  • Assessment of professionalism
  • Boundaries related to professionalism
  • Social media and professionalism
  • Methods for teaching and promoting professionalism

a PBSG-ED (Practice Based Small Group-Education) Workshop

2 hrs. BEST pathway

This session will help clinical teachers/preceptors:

  • Understand the contextual nature of professional behaviour and the pivotal role of clinical teachers in the development of professionalism among their learners
  • Provide educationally appropriate opportunities for learning the principles of professionalism within clinical settings
  • Develop effective strategies for dealing with unprofessional behaviours of learners during a clinical placement
