Carpet/Paint/Furniture Requests

 

**New** Barrier Orders for FHS Administrative Space:

 

In light of Public Health distancing protocols and best practices, departments may wish to purchase tempered or plexiglass desk barriers for front-line staff.

 

In advance of your order, should you require assistance determining whether barriers are required, please contact the FHS Safety Office at fhsso@mcmaster.ca for an assessment.

 

Please contact FHS Corporate Services for guidance and direction with respect to the purchase of barriers for your specific areas,  including preferred vendors and quotes.

BARRIER CLEANING:

 

The cleaning of barriers is the sole responsibility of FHS staff, as this does not fall into the scope of work by housekeeping.

 

Instructions for barrier cleaning:

 

Use cleaning wipes with at least 70% alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, bleach or ethyl/isopropyl alcohol. Once area has been cleaned with wipe, use a dry microfiber cloth to ensure that there aren’t any streaks left behind.

 

1) Glass Barrier Cleaning - Use Windex and a paper towel.

 

2) Plexiglass Barrier Cleaning - USE ONLY A MICROFIBER CLOTH WITH SOAPY WATER. **DO NOT USE** PAPER TOWELS, as this will cause scratches, or ammonia-based products such as WINDEX, as this will damage the surface leaving a cloudy residue.

 

 

Furniture

 

The university has a list of pre-approved preferred vendors that the Faculty of Health Sciences is authorized to commision (due to liability regulations), such as Lordly Jones and The Webster Group. We are continually working to obtain competitive pricing from additional vendors, coordinated by Chris Humeniuk.

 

We will arrange to provide you with competitive quote(s), and work with you and the identified vendor or

contractor to arrange mutually convenient completion timelines for orders or project work.

 

Where possible, all furniture should be ordered through one of these vendors. If a special order is needed and you are choosing to work with an alternate vendor, please contact Chris at X 20243 or chumen@mcmaster.ca.

 

Carpet and Paint

 

Note: Carpet and Paint requests are not to be submitted via work orders.

Requests should be submitted via a work order through Mosaic Maintenance Management , or contact Facility Services at Ext. 24740.

The university has preferred vendors and standard furniture lines/finishes. In order to maintain consistency/uniformity, please contact Chris Humeniuk, X 20243 or via email chumen@mcmaster.ca for assistance with any furniture purchases.

If a special order is required and you have chosen to work with an alternate vendor, please contact Chris Humeniuk, X 20243, or Todd Pentlichuk, X 22501 for approval.
