Welcome to our Department of Surgery Education webpage.
Educational Mission of the Department of Surgery
- Support the Faculty of Health Sciences by providing appropriate educational resources to all its schools with respect to the surgical aspects of patient care.
- Specifically support the Undergraduate MD Program by maintaining a strong surgical presence in all aspects of undergraduate learning and building on the synergy between undergraduate and postgraduate training programs.
- Facilitate the appropriate curriculum development, evaluation procedures and resource allocation to maintain and continually improve the undergraduate surgical program and the postgraduate surgical training programs as well as the newly developed physician assistant program.
- Encourage continuing surgical education with the ongoing development of CME programs and educational research activities.
