Report from Nepal
Dr. Jessica Kwapis has been working at Tansen Hospital in Nepal since completing her general surgery residency at McMaster, and was present for the disastrous earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, 2015.

Graduate Certificate in Global Surgical Care
The University of British Columbia will be launching the Graduate Certificate in Global Surgical Care (GCGSC) in September 2015. The GSGSC is an online 12 credit program designed to meet the growing need for professional development of students interested in focusing on the global health problem of the burden of unmet surgical care.

Lancet Commission on Global Surgery
The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery recently published its main report, "Global Surgery 2030: evidence and solutions for achieving health, welfare, and economic development." Dr. John Meara, the chair of the Commission, will be the keynote speaker for BRT 2016.
