Every employee of McMaster University must participate in basic training sessions as it relates to their work environment. It is important to participate in the safety training that suits your work environment.
The FHSc Safety Office requires WHMIS and Fire Safety training to be updated each year. This is accomplished by submitting quizzes posted on our web site.
Fire Safety Training
Each clinical worker of McMaster University needs to complete Fire Safety Training. This training has to be updated annually.
Clinical WHMIS
Each clinical worker of McMaster University needs to complete Clinical WHMIS. This training needs to be updated annually. Refer to our WHMIS page for more information.
On Line Safety Training
It is required all McMaster University employees participate in three other training sessions.
Asbestos Awareness and Slips, Trips and Falls can be completed on-line at the EOHSS web site.
The third, Ergonomics, can be taken in class or as on-line training.
Your supervisor may also identify hazard-specific training based on the hazards of your work area. The McMaster University training matrix may help identify this training.
