Autoclave Awareness

All FHS staff working with an autoclave are required to review the Autoclave Awareness training and complete the associated quiz.

This training is now online through the Mosaic system. First you have to access the Mosaic page and sign in, your McMaster ID is necessary to sign in. Follow this link to access the Mosaic sign in page.

NOTE: If you cannot sign in to the Mosaic page you should review the information under the "SUPPORT" tab on the Mosaic sign in page or contact UTS directly.

NOTE: If you are off campus you may have to establish a secure connection to the Mosaic system using the Virtual Private Network (VPN). Follow this link to go to the UTS web page for VPN instructions and the download.

Once you are in Mosaic, follow these instructions to register through Mosaic. The training is identified in Mosaic as "Autoclave Awareness Training" or "AUTOCL". NOTE: The dates posted in Mosaic related to the session do not apply, the session will be available in Avenue within two business days following your registration.

Your request will move to the Avenue to Learn web site within two business days. You should scroll down to the "Student" or "Continuing" tab on the Avenue home page to see the session. The training can be completed the following day in Avenue and the result will transfer back to Mosaic within two business days.

The training should take about an hour and completing a test is required. Once you have successfully completed the training your record will be kept in Mosaic.

You can access your training record through Mosaic as well, follow these instructions to access your record. The FHS Safety Office does not have access to training records held in the Mosaic system.
