Publication Details

Sheila Hewson, Ellen Jamieson, Mary Johnston et al.

Hamilton ON ; Organization of Research Coordinators and Assistants ( ORCA ), Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University, 1994.

Introduction, 6 chapters, 1 appendix. 42pp. spiral-bound. 8½" by 11". Paper. Figures, tables and graphic illustrations.

What Is It?

The 10 authors of this unusual volume have, collectively, decades of experience in the design and use of data collection tools -- questionnaires, measurement scales, case record forms and data collection forms of all types.

Drawing on lessons learned from both their and others' successes and failures, they have created a practical, "hands on" illustrated guide to help both novice and experienced researchers develop more effective data collection tools with less effort. This well-organized, easily understood resource offers excellent advice for students, research staff, principal investigators and others.

Please note: This title is not a PERD publication. David Keane (PERD Research Associate) is, however, one of the co-authors. Neither Dr. Keane nor PERD derive any monetary gain from the sale of this work.
