The Programme for Educational Research and Development, also known as "PERD" (and formerly known as "PED"), is a component of the Academic Services unit of the Faculty of Health Sciences. PERD houses the educational research and development activity of the Faculty.

Our Central Tenets

We believe that educational scholarship and educational programmes are mutually dependent and that the quality of both rests upon careful consideration of the best available evidence.

We are, therefore, dedicated to the advancement of research and scholarship in health sciences education in this Faculty, this university and beyond. We are equally dedicated to the fruitful application of knowledge gained from educational scholarship to the teaching and learning that take place in this Faculty
