Dr. Gita Wahi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and Pediatrician in the Division of General Pediatrics. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario. She went on to complete her residency in Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia followed by a fellowship in Academic General Pediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children. In 2012, she received her MSc in Health Research Methodology from the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster.
Dr. Wahi's research interests focus on the determinants of childhood obesity including the contribution of the early life environment on the risk for childhood obesity and related cardiovascular risk factors among diverse ethnic groups. Her clinical practice includes the inpatient General Pediatrics service as well as the management of pediatric obesity within the Children’s Exercise and Nutrition Centre at McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital.
