Dr. Christopher Sulowski is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at McMaster University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto and completed his Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Academic Fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children. In 2010, in recognition of excellence for outstanding effort and contribution to research, he received the hospital’s ER Research Recognition Award. He joined the faculty at McMaster in July 2011.
Dr. Sulowski has been a welcome addition to the growing Division of Emergency Medicine in McMaster’s Department of Pediatrics and McMaster Children’s Hospital. He has taken on the role of Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) director for the Pediatric ER. In doing so, he continues his administrative work with the trainee schedule as well as his educational research and curriculum development. His clinical research currently focuses on concussion recovery in children. He is also interested in strengthening community relationships and outreach programs and has given talks both in Toronto and the Niagara region.
Dr. Sulowski has recently been appointed as Deputy Chief of the Division of Emergency Medicine. As part of this new role, and in combination with his interest in quality improvement, he handles patient and family concerns in the Pediatric ER and is looking for areas to improve patient and family satisfaction and quality of care. He also plays an active role in ER business operations and billing within the division and department.
