Sheila Singh
Dr. Sheila Singh is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery and a joint member of the Department of Pediatrics. As a pediatric neurosurgeon and research scientist, Dr. Singh beings her patient experiences to the laboratory as she seeks to understand what causes brain tumours in children.
Dr. Singh was recruited to the McMaster Stem Cell and Cancer Research Institute in July 2007. Her research focuses on characterizing cancer stem cells that have been linked to the development and maintenance of brain tumours. In 2007, Dr. Singh was awarded a Canada Research Chair in Human Cancer Stem Cell Biology.
