Dr. Prashanth Murthy is an assistant professor in neonatology and a staff neonatologist at McMaster Children's Hospital. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Medical Law and Ethics from the University of Glasgow in United Kingdom.
Dr. Murthy received his Medical Degree from Bangalore University, India in 1993. He trained in Pediatrics in Bangalore Medical College and later moved to the UK for further training. He completed his Pediatric and Neonatal training in the UK in 2008 and his Fellowship in Neonatology in 2006 from the University of Toronto.
His areas of interests are medical education, functional echocardiography and implementing principles of immersive learning via simulation. Dr. Murthy is the program director of the neonatal-perinatal fellowship program and is actively involved in residency education.
