Dr. Scheinemann was born in Germany and educated at the University of Wuerzburg. After post-graduate training in general pediatrics in Switzerland and completion of her doctoral thesis, she started a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology in the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. After completion of her fellowship she was appointed to McMaster University in July 2008 as assistant professor for pediatric hematology and oncology. Dr. Scheinemann's main research interests are in neurooncology, especially in the field of low grade gliomas and quality of life as well as palliative care in pediatric oncology.
