April Kam
Dr. April Kam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and a McMaster medical school graduate. She joined the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 2010 after completing her pediatrics residency and an academic pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
She is a former member of the Board of Directors for Physicians for Global Survival. During her training, she pursued her passion for global health and has worked in several countries including Zimbabwe, Mexico, Eritrea, Rwanda, and most recently, Nicaragua.
Dr. Kam completed her Masters of Science in Public Health (Health Promotion stream) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK. Besides Pediatric Emergency Medicine topics, her interests also include clinical ethics, child advocacy, medical education and patient safety.
