Dr. Elyanne Ratcliffe is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at McMaster University. Previously, Dr. Ratcliffe worked at Columbia University where she worked with Dr. Michael Gershon in the field of neurogastroenterology and motility. As a member of the Intestinal Disease Research Program, her research aims to determine how extrinsic nerves innervate the gut during development. This research is supported by competitive funding from the American Gastroenterological Foundation and the Children's Digestive Health and Nutrition Foundation.
Dr. Ratcliffe's basic research has clinical relevance to the understanding of Hirschsprung's Disease and other motility disorders of the mammalian bowel. Clinically, she focuses on children with disordered feeding as Medical Director of McMaster's multidisciplinary Feeding and Swallowing (FAST) Team.
