  • Horizontal Electives: Learners will schedule horizontal electives directly with a supervisor.
  • Community Electives: Learners will schedule community electives directly with a supervisor.

Click here if you would like an opportunity to meet with the Pediatric Residency Program Director and/or the Pediatric Chief Residents during your rotation through Pediatrics.

 

Cancellation Policy: If a scheduled elective is cancelled less than 6 weeks from the start date it could be considered "unprofessional" and a letter could be sent to the learner's home school.

Observerships

Observerships are not recognized training therefore McMaster University is not involved in these arrangements.

Arrangements for observerships can be made through the Hamilton teaching hospitals: Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Healthcare.

You must be a Practicing Healthcare Practitioner to be eligible. Learners and Residents are not eligible to apply for observerships. There are other criteria in order to meet the eligibility requirements; please refer to the Observership Policy.
