Dr. Dragos Predescu is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at McMaster University.
Originally from Romania, Dr. Predescu completed his medical school in Bucharest, where he was an Assistant Professor affiliated with the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He also practiced as a pediatrician in a large pediatric academic hospital where he initiated the first PALS course in the country and was heavily involved in the organization of pediatric resuscitation and transport medicine at a national level.
In 2005 Dr. Predescu relocated to Canada to train in Pediatric Cardiology. During his fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Dr. Predescu was involved in both research and clinical activities caring for children with a wide variety of congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases. He then completed an additional year of training in Interventional Cardiology.
Since joining the McMaster Department of Pediatrics in 2009, Dr. Predescu has dedicated his time and energy to children with heart problems and their families while continuing his research and academic pursuits.
His main interests are optimization of patient care through standardized approaches, inter-specialty transition of knowledge, telemedicine, community-oriented collaboration, interventions and teaching.
