Dr. Pedder is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and a full-time Pediatric Respirologist at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Her Medical Degree and Pediatrics training were obtained at McMaster followed by a Fellowship in Pediatric Respirology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
She is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and in 2010 established the Cystic Fibrosis Newborn Screening Clinic at McMaster. She is actively involved with Cystic Fibrosis Canada and serves as a Site Accreditor for 42 Canadian clinics.
Dr. Pedder is a dedicated teacher with a passion for educating patients and families, undergraduate / post graduate trainees and colleagues via CME activities. She is the designated Education Resource Person in Respirology for McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Pedder’s clinical interests include cystic fibrosis, asthma, primary ciliary dyskinesia and general chest medicine. She contributes to CF research and the development of best practices and standards for cystic fibrosis care in Canada. Additional research interests include exercise promotion and adherence, developing better ways to define disease and quality improvement in patient care.
