Program Overview
A Royal College Accredited Fellowship.
The dedicated Forensic Pathology Unit is recognized as a centre of excellence for the delivery of the full cross section of forensic cases and as an integrated provincial site of Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS). A high volume of complex cases provides a wide variety of material for study and research with the unit performing in excess of 600 cases annually, including in-house subspecialty support by paediatric pathology, neuropathology and cardiac pathology.
This program has been granted approval by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the candidate will be eligible, and expected, to seek certification by the subspecialty examinations offered annually by the Royal College. Training requirements can be found on the Royal College website: http://rcpsc.medical.org/residency/certification/training/forensic-pathol_e.pdf
