Undergraduate — Year One — Medical Foundations Four
The following sessions are offered during the Medical Foundation 4 (MF4) block:
- Pain Session 1
- Ethics Session 1
- Ethics Session 2
There will be a large group session presenting an introduction to pain. The prevalence and importance of pain as a clinical problem will be discussed. A basic approach to clinical assessment of pain will be reviewed.
Student’s will work in their LF groups and review case studies that touch on ethical perspectives on end of life. (ProComp: Ethics)
There will be a large group session presenting an overview of euthanasia, definitions, and key ethical principles. Following this, student’s will work in their LF groups to engage in further discussion and debate about euthanasia and physician assisted suicide. (ProComp: Ethics)
