Undergraduate - Year Three (Clerkship) - Interactive Teaching Session
Interactive Teaching Session
All students from local and distributive sites will return to Hamilton for this session. Students will have the opportunity to individually interview a "mock patient" to help develop interviewing and communication skills. This interview will take approximately 15 minutes.
On this day the students will also be assigned a topic to "research and present" at the second teaching session. Topics are assigned at the beginning of the half-day and the research can be conducted when the students are not doing the actual interview. The presentation will be 5-10 minutes with the assistance of a content expert to guide the discussion.
Goals: The goal of the interactive teaching session is to provide students with an opportunity to work on their history taking and communication skills. This will be done in a controlled environment with "trained volunteers" as patients.
