Published: Feb. 24, 2016

Do you want to learn more about community health nursing in Canada? A series of audio/video modules is now available online to help. These modules were developed through a collaborative project involving McMaster University, Conestoga College, Mohawk College and the University of Windsor. They are intended to be used as a learning resource for students in the McMaster BScN program with a focus on introductory concepts related to the practice of community health nursing.

There are three modules in the series including: Module 1, Welcome to Community Health Nursing, Module 2, Enacting the Role of Community Health Nurse and Module 3, Developing your Competence as a Community Health Nurse.

The modules are designed to progress from more foundational concepts in Module 1 to more complex concepts in Module and 3. You will find it advantageous to complete the modules in order of sequence, i.e. Module 1 first, followed by Module 2 etc. References have been included for each module including a variety of community and nursing resources that you may find helpful.

You will also find a glossary including a list of frequently used terms relevant to community health nursing practice. There are tests available that can be completed at the end of each module where you can test your knowledge related to concepts.

The modules can be accessed (by anyone) at:
