Education and Professional Standing
Dr. Puksa completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Toronto (1978) and his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine (1982) and Respirology (1983) in Toronto and Hamilton respectively. Dr. Puksa has been involved in a variety of roles in education, primarily postgraduate residency training. Family doctor CME remains an ongoing interest of his.
Research Interests
Currently involved in a pilot study of brachytherapy and photodynamic therapy in the treatment of lung cancer (Cancer Care Ontario).
Clinical Interests
- Assessment of patients with suspected lung cancer as well as established lung cancer and its complications, immunocompromised patients with pulmonary complications, in addition to general respirology.
- Clinical work includes a busy office practice, hospital consultation service and lung cancer therapy in collaboration with Dr. Ranjan Sur at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic.
