Education and Professional Standing

Aasim Hasany is an Assistant Clinical Professor who works out of the Niagara Health System. He completed his medical degree from the University of Toronto (2011) and subsequent post-graduate training at Western University (Internal Medicine), the University of Saskatchewan (Respirology), and McMaster University (Sleep Medicine). His major clinical focus is in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine but he is also involved with the Clinical Teaching Unit in General Internal Medicine at the St. Catharines Hospital.

Academic and Research Interests

He is interested in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners in the hospital setting and at his community based clinic. He also holds regular small group tutorials for medical students and residents covering various topics in respiratory and sleep medicine. His research has focused on improving care for patients with COPD through pulmonary rehabilitation and handheld positive expiratory pressure devices.
