Clinical Profile

Dr. Agnes Chmiel is currently the Medical Director for the Inpatient Spinal Cord injury Program at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre. Her outpatient clinics focus on Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Arthritis Management, Spasticity Management, and Electromyography. She is also the Physiatry Consultant for the Hamilton General Hospital Spine unit.


Dr. Agnes Chmiel currently holds the title of Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine. She has a keen interest in education, and is currently the Associate Program Director for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training Program at McMaster University.

She is also the OSCE Coordinator for the annual examination of senior residents in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Programs from McMaster University, University of Toronto, and Western University. She is part of the Residency Training Committee and has been involved in curriculum development.  In addition, she frequently welcomes elective students from other universities who have an interest in Physiatry.
