Education and Professional Standing

Dale R Kalina, graduated from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK, and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON.

Dr Kalina is currently a Clinical Scholar in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, ON. His areas of clinical focus are outpatient infectious disease management, including outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy (OPAT) and HIV. He is a current member of the Vascular Access Committee and of the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Canada (AMMI).

He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Digital Transformation at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.

Research Interests

His research interests include HIV Preexposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and infectious diseases in the intravenous drug using population. He is a current member of the IVDU Agenda 2020 research group.
