Education and Professional Standing

Following undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and gerontology at McMaster, Dr. Baker attended medical school at Queen’s University in Kingston and then trained in internal medicine at UWO and geriatric medicine at U of T before completing a Master’s degree in health administration though HPME at U of T. Dr. Baker spent seven years at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, five as chief of geriatric medicine, before joining William Osler as Medical Director for the Seniors Health System in 2010. Dr. Baker has been involved in provincial leadership in geriatric medicine as the OMA section head for geriatrics since 2007. Dr. Baker has been committed to resident education in geriatric medicine and has helped develop clinical learning rotations for students at all levels. He holds an assistant professorship in the department of medicine at U of T and an adjunct assistant clinical appointment in geriatrics at McMaster.
