Important Applications Deadlines:

Canadian & U.S. Medical Graduates & IMGs

Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents who graduated from a Canadian or American medical school and are currently enrolled in residency training in Internal Medicine will apply for subspecialty residency training through the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS) for the 2010-11 academic session. PLEASE NOTE:  Residents should mail their reference letters directly to CaRMS as directed on their website.

Exception are the visa trainees who do not apply through caRMS, but apply directly to the mcmaster postgraduate office. Visa trainees are those individuals who are currently registered as a PGY3 Resident in a Canadian residency program and are sponsored by their government/agency and would like to be considered for a position at McMaster University. Please complete the McMaster application form, found on the Postgraduate website, Deadline for receipt of application is September 1st

Details regarding Interview:

All applications will be reviewed. Personal interviews are required; but only offered to short-listed candidates. This is a full-day event starting at 0900 hours and lasting until approximately 14:30. The interview will consist of a group orientation, as well as individual interviews with faculty. Applicants will have the opportunity to meet with the Program Director, faculty, and current residents. We do not offer telephone interviews.
