Education and Professional Standing

  • Dr. Ryan graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1963 with a Gold Medal in Clinical Medicine. Additionally, he received a Gold Medal in the Debating Society.
  • In 1967 Dr. Ryan became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (London).
  • He was awared an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 1988.
  • In 1971 Dr. Ryan received his F.R.C.P.(C) and his Staff Appointments were Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in the Hamilton Civic Hospitals. He was Director of the Clinical Teaching Unit at the Hamilton General Hospital from 1981 to 1984.
  • Dr. Ryan received the PAIRO Award for Teaching in 1984.
  • Dr. Ryan was Examiner, Royal College of Physicians, Radiology and Internal Medicine from 1981 to 1988.
