Clinical, Educational and Research Interests

Dr. Vikas Tandon completed his medical school at McMaster University, here in Hamilton.  He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, followed by his Cardiology Residency training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Finally, he pursued a two-year Cardiac Imaging Fellowship in the areas of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT Angiography at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Currently, Dr. Tandon is an Associate Professor with the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine, and has been on staff since July 2011.  He is the program director of the Perioperative Vascular Medicine Training Program and is also the Nuclear Cardiology Subunit Coordinator for the Cardiology Residency Training Program here at McMaster University.  His clinical, educational and research interests lie in the areas of perioperative medicine, cardiac risk stratification and cardiac imaging.
