Education and Professional Standing

After graduating from University of Toronto medical school in 1997, Dr Salehian completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology Training at McMaster University.  Subsequently he has completed a Clinical/Research Fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the University of Toronto (2003-04) and a second Fellowship in Advanced Echocardiography at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (2004-05). He is an assistant professor in the Division of Cardiology and is the Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at the McMaster University Medical Centre. He is one of the two cardiologists participating in the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic at McMaster University. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 2006 and a Fellow of the American Heart Association in 2008. He has published over 50 peer reviewed manuscripts and abstracts. He is a frequent reviewer for American Journal of Cardiology, Congenital Heart Disease, and Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography.
He is actively involved in postgraduate medical training for internal medicine and cardiology residents as well as fellows in echocardiography. He is the recipient of Division of Cardiology’s Ernest Fallen Award for Teaching Excellence in 2007.

Research Interests
