International Medical Students Application Information

To make the process of applying for an elective at McMaster a more efficient one, there will be some changes to the application process. Please see the details below and check back for more updates.

CANADIAN SCHOOLS:

To better accommodate your elective requests we NOW have an ONLINE APPLICATION.

Please note that our fees have changed to the following:

2 weeks $150

3-4 weeks $200

5-6 weeks $250

If we cannot find you a placement your fee will be returned with the exception of the $50 non-refundable administration fee.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS:

Due to time restraints with processing international applications, we will NOT be opening our online application to International schools at this time.

We are currently accepting paper copies of our application up until December 2011 for elective requests from January 2012 – June 2012. We will NOT be accepting paper copies after December 2011.

You still need to send in your application 6 months in advance to the date of your requested elective start date.

At this time we are NOT accepting elective requests for July – December 2012. If they are sent, they will be returned to you. We will be opening up our online application for these requests at a later date. Check back for updates.

 The maximum number of weeks you can apply for is 4 weeks.

Our fee for international schools remains the same at $450 for 2 – 4 weeks. Please send a money order/certified cheque, payable to McMaster University, in Canadian funds.
