Two faculty members recognized

Patty Solomon

Patty Solomon, a professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science, has received an Honorary Membership from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

The membership recognizes individuals for significantly enhancing the profession through contributions over a period of at least 15 years.

Solomon has been with the SRS since its inception in 1989, and was instrumental in developing the physiotherapy program. She was assistant dean of the program from 1996 to 2003. Solomon is interested in educational research and development and has published and consulted extensively in the areas of problem-based learning and curriculum design. Her research interests are focused on HIV and disability, as well as effectiveness and outcomes of educational processes.

Colleen McKey, an assistant professor in McMaster’s School of Nursing, has obtained the status of Diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She was formally recognized at the college’s recent convocation.

McKey teaches in the area of leadership and management, and her research focuses on leadership, knowledge dissemination and mentorship. She also serves as director for the Nursing and Health Care Leadership and Management Program, is director of the Nursing Education Research Unit, and is assistant director of educational resources for the School of Nursing.
