Program administrator captures national award

The program administrator for the anesthesia residency program of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine has captured a national award for her work.

Candice Stroud, who has worked in post graduate medical education for 15 years, is the winner of the 2016 Program Administrator Award for Innovation and Excellence from the International Conference on Residency Education of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

She is credited with improving all facets of the anesthesia program and assuming a strong leadership role in the program with 40 residents and 80 clinical faculty.

She will receive the award at the conference in the fall.
