Published: June 6, 2016

Student and faculty research will be on display through oral sessions and poster presentations at the first annual Faculty of Health Sciences Education Research Day Friday.

Taking place on June 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the inaugural event hopes to promote conversation amongst researchers and scholars across departments and programs. Students will get the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of current professional practice in health science pedagogy and research principles in health science education.

A special guest is Dr. Kevin Eva, a McMaster PhD grad in cognitive psychology and professor and senior scientist at the University of British Columbia. He will be part of an expert panel on "reconceptualising feedback" at 9 a.m. and a plenary talk on rater-based assessment at 2:30 p.m.

The Education Research Day takes place at the Michael DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery (MDCL). The day is presented by the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Master of Science Health Science Education Program and the Centre for Simulation-Based Learning.
