Ambassador to talk on partnerships for global health

His Excellency Cees Kole, ambassador of the Netherlands to Canada

The Netherlands' ambassador to Canada is visiting McMaster University next week to talk about internationalization of higher education.

His Excellency Cees Kole is drawn here, in part, by the successful Master of Science in Global Health program established jointly by McMaster and his country's Maastricht University. The program, established in 2010, now also involves Manipal University in India, Thammasat University in Thailand.

The presentation is part of the annual Global Health Speaker Series of the Global Health Office, part of a response to McMaster's Forward with Integrity initiative to enhance international activities and incorporate global perspectives.

The office is also currently working with a consortium of universities from the Netherlands, India, Chile, and Thailand on the Erasmus+ program of the European Union which provides study, work and volunteer experience abroad to Europeans.

In addition, the Global Health Office recently received funding from the Norwegian government to build links between students and faculty of the University College of Southeast Norway and McMaster.
