Gordon Guyatt ('77, '83) and Alenia Kysela ('94, '97) were honoured at the McMaster Alumni Association Awards ceremony, a celebration of McMaster alumni and students for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions.

The Alumni Gallery is a McMaster tradition of almost 35 years.

Guyatt, a graduate of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and McMaster's Master of Science program, is a Distinguished University Professor of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics. He was inducted in the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame earlier this year, and has championed the practice of evidence-based medicine.

Kysela graduated from McMaster's arts and science program, completed the doctor of medicine program in 1997, and has since been working in rural medicine. She is currently an emergency physician at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Nova Scotia, and a researcher with specific interests in outreach to marginalized populations in Nova Scotia's South Shore.

In addition to Guyatt and Kysela's induction, 2014 BHSc graduate Arnav Agarwal received the Arch Award, which recognizes recent graduates for their success in career endeavours and notable contributions to society. Agarwal is a research assistant at St. Michael's Hospital and a member of the Clinical Urology and Epidemiology Working Group at the University of Helsinki.
