A book by McMaster professors has been translated into Japanese. Quality in Family Practice Book of Tools, gives advice to family physicians on improving their practice.

Published in 2010, the book was written by Cheryl Levitt, professor of family medicine, and Linda Hilts, then assistant professor of nursing, now retired. The translation, by Shinji Matsumura and his colleagues in the Japan Primary Care Association, was sparked when Matsumura saw a poster about the book at a conference.

"We expect that this comprehensive, scientific and easy-to-use Canadian tool will help improve all aspects of the quality of primary care in primary care clinics in Japan," said Matsumura.

The book will be available for sale to Japanese family physicians.
