Faculty member takes CIHR award in aging

Dr. Linda Lee, associate clinical professor, Department of Family Medicine

An associate clinical professor of family medicine has been recognized by the Canadian Health Research Institutes (CIHR) Institute of Aging.

Dr. Linda Lee, a family physician in Kitchener-Waterloo, has received the 2015 CIHR Institute of Aging Betty Havens Award for Knowledge Translation in Aging for her leadership in helping improve the care of seniors with memory disorders.

Besides her work for the Waterloo Regional Campus of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, she is director of the Centre for Family Medicine Memory Clinic and director of primary healthcare education for the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging. She has developed a primary care memory clinic model and training program which has assisted more than 70 other primary care settings in Ontario to develop new memory clinics.
