This message is for all faculty and staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
This message contains important information about the upcoming 2011 holiday closures or changes in hours in the Health Sciences Centre (McMaster University Medical Centre) building.
McMaster University is closed from Saturday, December 24, 2011 to Sunday, January 1, 2012 inclusive, with the exception of essential services. Please speak to your supervisor or visit the main website for more information on closures or holiday hours.
The University re-opens Monday, January 2, 2012.

With the holidays fast approaching, the opportunity for theft rises.
The following tips will help create a safe and secure environment for all:
- Items of value should be left at home. Do not bring items of value or large sums of money to work. Any fund raising money needs to be locked up at all times.
- Work areas, particularly those unoccupied or isolated, should be locked even if you are leaving your work area for a short period of time. i.e. lunch, coffee breaks, photo copying.
- Lock up all personal valuables and equipment example: purses, wallets, cell phones, laptop computers, house and car keys.
- Make sure that your purse, briefcase, gifts, pager, cell phone, laptop computer or other items of value are not left in plain view in your vehicle or work area. This creates an invitation to potential criminals.
- Ensure that all persons assigned to work in your area wear identification badges at all times.
- Actual or potential breeches in security including lost keys, access cards, and HHS photo identification, need to be reported to security immediately.
- Any suspicious persons or activity has to be immediately reported to Security Services. Suspicious activity includes anything that seems out of the ordinary for whatever reason.
All thefts are to be reported to Security Services.

Mail Services
McMaster University Mail Services 2011-2012 Schedule and Closure
IUTS (Inter University Transit System)
The last outbound shipment of IUTS (Inter University Transit System) in 2011 will be on Wednesday December 21. The next outbound shipment will occur on Wednesday January 4, 2012.
Closed December 24 to January 1, 2012 (inclusive). Mail delivery, pickup, and processing will not take place during this time. Service will resume on January 2, 2012.
Canada Post will hold all incoming mail from December 24 to January 2 (inclusive). Their service will resume on January 3, 2012.

Parking
McMaster/Hamilton Health Sciences Ward Avenue Shuttle
The McMaster/HHS shuttle from Ward Avenue will not be operating from Friday, December 23 through Friday, December 30, inclusive. The Ward shuttle will resume on Monday, January 2. Hospital and University staff who use the Ward Avenue parking lot, may park onsite at the Hamilton Health Sciences (MUMC) underground or south garage at no additional charge during this week.

Will not be operating from Friday, December 23 through Monday, January 2, inclusive.
Bethel Gospel Church parking and shuttle
The parking shuttle from Bethel Gospel Church will not be operating from Friday, December 23 through Monday, January 2, inclusive. Juravinski Hospital staff who use the Bethel parking lot may park in the Juravinski Hospital ramps at no additional charge during this week.
