McMaster is the home to problem-based learning (PBL) which is credited with dramatically changing medical education when it was first implemented in 1965. Since that time McMaster's innovative new method has spread widely, throughout the training of health professionals at McMaster and, internationally, it is used in some form in medical and health sciences teaching at most institutions.
McMaster's Faculty of Health Sciences is home to a number of bursaries which support students, including seven which were established by graduating classes to ensure more equitable access to a fine education.
We continue to seek bursary support, for our students in our many health sciences programs including nursing, rehabilitation science, medicine, midwifery and Bachelor of Health Sciences. We are also seeking investment in new education initiatives such as the MD/PhD Program, and the Physician Assistant Education Program, the first of its kind in Ontario.
