• J. Fraser Mustard, a former dean and vice president of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who helped establish at McMaster the medical school with its radically different curriculum.

• Drugs that interfere with the blood clotting mechanism
• Clinical tests of both new and existing drugs to devise better means of treating clotting disorders
